Lavender strawberry ice-cream (ice-lolly)

This ice-cream has a very quick and simple recipe, which even children can prepare alone with a little assistance! I usually prepare them without an ice-cream machine in ice-lolly shapes.

Children especially love its flavour, the lavender is really just slightly palpable on its taste, like a spice. If you don’t have an ice-lolly shaper even that is not a problem, any kind of plastic glass will do, in which instead of a handle we poke a teaspoon.

Ingredients of lavender strawberry ice-lolly:

3/4 cup (2 dl) cream
3 cup (6-7 dl) yogurt
5 tablespoons of sugar (the reason there needs to be this much is, that in the ice-cream the sweet flavour is less perceptible)
2 tablespoon fresh or 1 tablespoon dried lavender
1/3 cup (1 dl) water
1 vanilla sugar
1 pound (500 g) strawberry

Homemade Strawberry Lavender Ice Cream Recipe

Preparation in pictures:

We blend the ingredients except the water and the lavender. (Yogurt, cream, sugar, strawberry, vanilla sugar)

We boil the water together with the lavender and after letting it sit for a few minutes we pour the lavender water into the blender through a screen. If you don’t have a blender a stick mixer can also be used to prepare the ice-cream.

Press the lavender through the screen really well, so all the flavour passes into the ice-cream well.

We pour the mix into moulds. On the right side there are the small plastic glasses, in which I have poked teaspoons, when they were already frozen a bit, so they don’t slant.


This mould has its own stick, which will freeze into the ice-cream. We put the ice-creams into the freezer and freeze them until the stick doesn’t come out of them anymore (now for me this was about 2-3 hours).
